Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins has been the subject of trade rumors with the veteran and his team struggling through roughly the first half of the season.

Prior to a breakout 8-of-13 shooting performance against the Chicago Bulls on Friday night, Wiggins was shooting less than 41% from the field on the season.

Despite this, there seems to be a nice amount of interest in Wiggins’ services from Eastern Conference teams. According to Bovada, one has emerged as the betting favorite to land the former No. 1 pick. That comes in the form of the Atlanta Hawks (+200). The Chicago Bulls (+225) and Toronto Raptors (+275) are right behind them.

NBA rumors points to the Warriors being proactive ahead of the Feb. 8 trade deadline. One report suggests that everyone outside of four-time champion Stephen Curry could be available.

The Warriors find themselves at a mere 18-20 on the season and as the 12th seed in the Western Conference. Wiggins is one chip that is more likely headed out of town within the next month or so.

It’s interesting that Atlanta has emerged as the betting favorites. Golden State has been more linked to the Chicago Bulls in a trade that would include Zach LaVine and another deal for Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam. Both would include Wiggins heading out.

There is certainly a lot of questions surrounding Wiggins’ trade value given his struggles this season and relatively lofty contract.

Depending on the return, Golden State might have to sweeten the pot with a young player such as Moses Moody and/or draft pick compensation.

As for Atlanta, everything is said to be on the table right now with the team struggling at 15-22. All-Star guard Dejounte Murray has been the subject of trade rumors. But he makes very little since for Golden State with Curry and Chris Paul in the mix.

The Warriors are also said to be looking for an offensive-minded big. Atlanta doesn’t necessarily have that. A broader deal could include the Hawks looking to get out from longer-term deals while taking on Wiggins contract and Paul’s expiring deal. This could include Murray and Bogdan Bogdanovic heading back to Golden State with draft compensation.

Time will tell on this front. But it’s clear both the Hawks and Warriors are active on the NBA trade front with less than a month to go before the deadline.
