The New England Patriots entered Thursday’s Week 6 game against the New York Giants having yielded zero passing touchdowns compared to 11 interceptions on the season.
They picked off rookie Giants quarterback Daniel Jones two times early on Thursday en route to taking a 14-0 lead despite some struggles from Tom Brady.
That’s when free-agent signing Golden Tate, making his second appearance after serving a suspension to open the season, took the top off New England’s defense.
Check out this brilliant juggling 64-yard touchdown catch from Tate against stud Patriots corner Jonathan Jones.
That’s about as astonishing of a result as we could have expected. Tate needed to come up big with Saquon Barkley, Evan Engram and Sterling Shepard out for the game.
It also cut the lead to 14-7 in a game that the Pats are heavily favored.
