Prior to suffering through a couple injury-plagued seasons in Toronto, Josh Donaldson was considered one of the best all-around third baseman in baseball.
The former AL MVP might not be living up to expectations at the plate in his first season with the Atlanta Braves, but he’s definitely doing it from the field.
Miami Marlins third baseman Brian Anderson found that out the hard way Saturday evening. With the Braves up 1-0 in the bottom of the eighth, Donaldson robbed Anderson of what would have been a single and a tie game.

Miami ultimately challenged the out call at first. But that proved to be pointless. Donaldson did in fact throw Anderson out, keeping it a one run game.
To be able to charge that ball, transfer it from the glove to the hand and throw a dart while off balance. That is legitimately one of the most difficult defensive plays in the game.
That’s probably why Donaldson is out there at the hot corner, right?
