The Carolina Panthers have found their replacement for Jonathan Stewart. Carolina announced on Monday that it had signed former Denver Broncos running back C.J. Anderson.

He’ll likely take over the role that Stewart occupied in the Carolina backfield for many years before being released in February. With Stewart gone, the Panthers had a definite need to find someone to share the backfield with Christian McCaffrey. Anderson figures to slot into that role.
Anderson was released by the Denver Broncos in April. He rushed for a career high 1,007 yards in 2017 and added 28 receptions for 224 yards.
