On Wednesday, Giancarlo Stanton absolutely bombed his first home game at Yankee Stadium, striking out five times for the ever-elusive platinum sombrero. He even got booed by Yankees fans, because of course he did.
On Thursday, less than 24 hours later, he answered that disappointing debut with one of the biggest home runs we’ve seen so far in 2018.

In fact, this ball Stanton crushed left the stadium faster than any other ball hit so far this season.
Just your casual 118 off the bat from Stanton, no big deal.

The man truly has awe-inspiring power. And though he will strike out a ton, he’s going to eventually make opposing pitchers pay.
