LOOK: Billboard in NYC challenges LeBron James to sign with the Knicks

That whole King of New York thing is now being taken to a whole new level. Earlier in the season, a rift grew between the New York Knicks and LeBron James over who actually held that title. Members of the Knicks obviously concluded it was Kristaps Porzingis. James himself disagreed. It was petty. It was fun.

Now, with James just mere months from hitting free agency, those in New York City are ramping up the conversation even more by displaying a billboard for James outside of Madison Square Garden. It’s all sorts of great.

“King of New York? Prove it. #KingJamesNYC18.”

This comes with James and his Cavaliers set to take on the Knicks in New York on Monday. It’s a billboard the MVP candidate likely won’t be able to avoid as he makes his way to MSG for the game.

Realistically, there’s very little chance that James ends up in the Big Apple. While he might view New York as his home away from home, there are other more attractive options out there. Though, it’s readily apparent that cities are already making pitches for the impending free agent.

This comes after another banner was seen in Philadelphia hoping the Sixers land James during the summer.
