Jim Kelly went under the knife on Wednesday. He had surgery on his jaw after recently finding out that cancer had once again returned to his body.
The surgery, which took nearly 12 hours in total, was done at Mount Sinai Hospital. Afterward his wife, Jill Kelly, shared a touching update on Instagram.
“Surgery is complete,” Jill Kelly wrote in the Instagram post. “Thank GOD and the amazing team of doctors and nurses that took care of Jim today…and will continue to take care of him as he heads into a very significant time of recovery.”
She also shared a few pictures, one of which shows Kelly was registered at the hospital on the No. 12 computer, which obviously is significant to the legendary former Buffalo Bills quarterback.
We wish Kelly and his family nothing but the best as he begins another recovery process.
