Vernon Davis excited to be reunited with Alex Smith

Players in the NFL have a way of shifting franchises which sometimes reunites them with former teammates. This is the case for Washington Redskins tight end Vernon Davis who will play once again with the newly acquired Alex Smith.

Davis, who seems thrilled about working with his former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, had this to say.

“He’s gonna be great for us,” Davis said in Minneapolis at a Super Bowl event, per TMZ Sports … “Fantastic!”

Davis and Smith will need to get back in sync with each other. That will happen in 2018 when we see the two players take the field together for the first time since 2012. The duo played together from 2006 (when Davis was drafted by San Francisco) until Smith lost his starting job to Colin Kaepernick in 2012.

It will be fun for fans of both players to see them reunited once Smith starts officially working in D.C.
