Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer named Case Keenum the team’s Week 11 starter against the Los Angeles Rams. After putting up four touchdowns in a win over the Washington Redskins last week, that can’t be considered a surprise.
Though, this one report from Fox Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer notes that Minnesota was actually tempted to start Teddy Bridgewater in Sunday’s huge game against the Rams.
Vikings were very tempted to turn to Bridgewater bc they view him as their franchise but are sticking w Keenum again

After being sidelined since August of 2016 with a knee injury, Bridgewater was active this past week. It was most definitely an emotional situation for the former first-round pick after he worked his tail off to get back on the field.
As Glazer notes, Bridgewater is still viewed as the franchise quarterback in Minnesota. But the team is 7-2 on the season and has won five consecutive games with Keenum under center. It makes little sense to switch quarterbacks right now.
With that said, it would not be a shock to see Teddy take over under center Sunday should Keenum struggle early. It’s something to watch in a game between two surprising first-place teams.
