WATCH: Teddy Bridgewater with tears of joy about being active for first time since injury

Teddy Bridgewater

The Minnesota Vikings activated quarterback Teddy Bridgewater Sunday for their game against the Washington Redskins. It was the first game back for Bridgewater since the 2015 season, as he missed all of last year and the first half of this season due to the catastrophic knee injury that reportedly threatened his life last summer.

The last time Bridgewater was active was 672 days ago, making this quite a momentous occasion for the young man. So it’s hardly surprising that Bridgewater was overcome with emotion on the sideline after soaking it all in Sunday.

That’s just awesome. Bridgewater has endured some tough times to get to this point, and he could be starting soon. He’s the backup to Case Keenum this weekend, and Minnesota isn’t going to rush him back.

However, based on comments made by his teammates, not only is he ready but his arm is better than ever. We can’t wait to see Bridgewater back on the field. Until then, we’ll just enjoy this moment with him.
