The annual Red River Showdown between Texas and Oklahoma is one of the biggest games in college football every year. The two Big 12 teams are gearing up for their 112th rivalry game this Saturday, which will take place at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas.
Based on average ticket prices for this event, per Vivid Seats, this is the most expensive game of Week 7…by a long shot.

There is a lot of intrigue surrounding both of these teams. Oklahoma was thought to be the best team in the conference, especially after Baker Mayfield and Co. took mighty Ohio State to task (in Columbus, no less) earlier this year.
However, last weekend’s stunning loss at home to Iowa State put an end to all that in a hurry.
Texas, on the other hand, is in a transitional year as Tom Herman assumes control of the program following a few failed seasons with Charlie Strong. The Longhorns lost their first game in embarrassing fashion to Maryland in Week 1. Since then, however, they have managed to scrap their way back to a respectable 3-2 record, their only other loss being a narrow one to then No. 4 USC.
Mayfield has already thrown down the gauntlet in this one, taking a shot at Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger earlier this week. It’s going to be an unpredictable, spicy game, an we cannot wait to see how it unfolds.
