Report: Browns releasing Brock Osweiler

Cleveland Browns QB Brock Osweiler wants to be the team's starter in 2017.

In not so-shocking news Friday, the Cleveland Browns released quarterback Brock Osweiler.

Osweiler had a miserable season with the Houston Texans in 2016, throwing for only 15 touchdowns versus 16 interceptions.

The Texans traded him to the Browns during free agency where he competed with rookie DeShone Kizer and Cody Kessler to start for Cleveland.

As only Osweiler could do, he managed to squash any opportunity to earn the starting job by producing poorly during the preseason. It would not be surprising if Osweiler went unemployed the entire 2017 campaign. It would take a team incredibly desperate to reach out to Osweiler at this point.
