Things could very well be on the verge of boiling over in Jacksonville. Just a short while after star receiver Allen Robinson openly voiced frustration over the performance of quarterback Blake Bortles, cornerback Jalen Ramsey seems to be doing the same thing.
Here, you will see that the second-year defensive back liked an Instagram post that linked to an article listing six potential replacements for Bortles under center.
Normally, this type of online investigative reporting would be seen as reaching. That’s until we realize the Jaguars themselves have put Bortles on notice publicly. If the team is willing to do that, we’re not too surprised an outspoken youngster like Ramsey is also willing to throw his quarterback under the bus.
Regardless of whether the likes of Colin Kaepernick or Alex Smith can be seen as upgrades over Bortles, it’s becoming increasingly clear that players on the Jaguars are not happy having to prop up a quarterback that continues to struggle with interceptions.
Robinson’s frustration was all about the person tasked with getting him the ball actually failing to be accurate. Meanwhile, it’s apparent Ramsey isn’t happy about his unit having to defend short fields due to Bortles’ mistake-proneness.
