The trade rumors regarding Kawhi Leonard and the Philadelphia 76ers are ramping up. We covered a report earlier on Sunday in which the 76ers’ interest in Leonard “remains strong,” and now we have an idea what it might take for Philly to land him.
According to Jordan Schultz of Yahoo Sports, the Spurs are asking “for three future first-round draft choices and two current players, per a source familiar with the negotiations.”
That source, at this point, is not sure which two players the Spurs are asking for in exchange for their superstar forward. However, regardless of who they are, it’s those three first-round picks that really highlight just how much value Leonard holds right now.
We can assume the Sixers won’t be interested in giving up either Ben Simmons or Joel Embiid. Other than those two superstars in the making, however, it stands to reason that Philadelphia would have at least some willingness to part with other young players.
These two teams seem to be very engaged and working hard to get a deal done that will send Leonard to Philadelphia. The big question on our minds is: If this deal does get done, will LeBron James join Leonard and The Process?
