Houston Astros rookie phenom Yordan Alvarez made MLB history on Sunday. In just his 12th MLB game, he hit his seventh home run and drove in his 16th RBI.
As noted by Mark Berman of Fox 26 in Houston, Alvarez is now the first player in MLB history to have seven home runs and 16 RBI in his first 12 games.
Called up just a couple weeks ago, Alvarez has been simply amazing for the Astros.
This also isn’t the first time Alvarez has made MLB history. Just one week ago, he became just the fourth player in league history to hit four-plus home runs in his first five games.
At this pace, it won’t be long before Alvarez is challenging other, more prestigious records.
