The Dallas Wings acquired center Teaira McCowan and a pair of first-round draft picks from the Indiana Fever on Tuesday in exchange for three first-round selections.

The Wings secured the seventh overall pick of the 2022 WNBA Draft and a first-round selection in 2023 initially held by the Chicago Sky. The 2023 pick was later acquired by Indiana.

In turn, the Fever claimed Dallas’ first-round picks (Nos. 4 and 6 overall) in the 2022 WNBA Draft and a first-round selection in 2023.

McCowan, 25, averaged career-best totals in points (11.3), rebounds (9.6) and blocks (1.6) in 32 games (23 starts) last season. The 6-foot-7 Texas native was selected by Indiana with the third overall pick of the 2019 WNBA Draft.

“Teaira is one of the most dominant, young post players in the WNBA today,” Dallas Wings president and CEO Greg Bibb said. “We are fortunate to add a player of her caliber to our team. Her size and skill will help solidify our interior post presence as we continue to build our talented roster.”
