Nylander is the latest big-ticket signing for the Maple Leafs.
Last August, Matthews signed a four-year, $53 million extension that takes effect with the 2024-25 season.
Forwards John Tavares ($11 million) and Mitchell Marner ($10.9 million) also carry cap hits of more than $10 million. Tavares and Marner each can be an unrestricted free agent at the end of next season.
