Wildcard Gaming and Evil Geniuses guaranteed themselves spots in Division I for the upcoming Dota Pro Circuit season by sweeping matches on Wednesday in the DPC North America: ESL One Winter event.
Evil Geniuses logged a 2-0 win over Team Undying, leaving both teams with 4-2 records. Wildcard also moved to 4-2 by beating simply TOOBASED 2-0.
Wildcard, Evil Geniuses and Undying are tied for second place behind Quincy Crew (6-0). All three teams have one match remaining in the eight-team round robin. The top six teams will clinch spots in Division I for the next tour, while the bottom two teams will be relegated to Division II.
simply TOOBASED slipped closer to relegation after dropping to 1-5, tied for last place with Black N Yellow.
Evil Geniuses won twice Wednesday on red, in 35 minutes and 41 minutes. The Philippines’ Abed “Abed” Azel L. Yusop led Evil Geniuses with an average 14/2/16 kill-death-assist ratio. Peru’s Enzo “Timado” Gianoli O’Connor topped Undying with an average 8.5/4.0/6.5 K-D-A ratio.
Wildcard downed simply TOOBASED in 33 minutes on red and then in 35 minutes on green. The United States’ Luke “YamSun” Wang produced an average 11.0/1.5/11.0 K-D-A ratio for Wildcard. Canada’s Noah “boris” Minhas logged a 4.5/4.5/5.0 K-D-A ratio for simply TOOBASED.
Week 5 play concludes Saturday with two matches: 4 Zoomers vs. Arkosh Gaming, and Black N Yellow vs. simply TOOBASED.
