White Sox rumors: Team favored to land All-Star Edwin Encarnacion

It sure the heck looks like general manager Rick Hahn and the Chicago White Sox are going for it this winter.

Fresh off landing former Cy Young winner Dallas Keuchel, Chicago is reportedly favored to sign three-time All-Star power hitter Edwin Encarnacion.

Chisox said to be very serious in pursuit of Edwin Encarnacion. Nothing likely to be completed/announced til after the holiday but they appear to be at the forefront of talks.

This would add another big bat to a lineup that’s already been upgraded with the additions of Nomar Mazara and All-Star catcher Yasmani Grandal.

Encarnacion, 36, hit 34 homers and drove in 86 runs in stops with the Mariners and Yankees last season. He’s averaging a whopping 37 homers and 106 RBI over the past eight seasons.
