It will be the first time that President Trump has hosted a champion at the White House. It’s been a tradition for presidents to meet with teams that are coming off championships, both in the college and professional ranks.
As with everything in modern-day America, this won’t be without its drama. Multiple members of the defending champs have already indicated that they will sit this visit out (more on that here).
It will surely be interesting to see what comes of this and who decides to attend what is normally a festive meeting with the leader of the free world.
