Weibo Gaming advance to grand final of Worlds

Brookdale Community College has built an esports arena where students and the community can practice video gaming. It's the latest step in joining a rapidly growing industry. As part of it, the college also has introduced its first varsity esports team featuring 19 players for three different games.

Weibo Gaming defeated Bilibili Gaming 3-2 on Saturday to earn a spot in the finals of the 2023 League of Legends World Championship in Busan, South Korea.

In a tough semifinals match in the Knockout Round, Weibo took the early lead with a 29-minute win on blue, but Bilibili took the next map on blue in 35 minutes.
From that point, the teams alternated, with all victories on blue. Weibo won the third game in 28 minutes, and Bilibili followed with a 29-minute triumph before Weibo took the decider in 35 minutes during the fifth game.

The other semifinal will be played on Sunday when T1 face JD Gaming.

Weibo Gaming and the winner of the T1/JD Gaming contest will meet Nov. 19 in the grand final at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
