WATCH: Vernon Davis leaps over defender for amazing TD

It was just a few short years ago that Washington Redskins veteran Vernon Davis was considered among the most athletic tight ends in the NFL.

The 35-year-old tight end reminded the Philadelphia Eagles of that in Washington’s season opener on Sunday. Here, Davis catches a relatively short pass from Case Keenum and turns up field for a 48 yard touchdown. He decided to leapfrog a defender in the process.

That’s certainly not what the Eagles had anticipated on their first defensive series of the season going. Davis partying like it’s 2010 and such.

The veteran could provide Keenum with a consistent threat, especially given the injury history of starting tight end Jordan Reed.
