Clemson Tigers quarterback Trevor Lawrence came into the National Championship Game ready for the big moment. It didn’t take long before he burned LSU Tigers for the first touchdown of the game, then greeted LSU’s fans with quite the gesture.
After leading Clemson’s offense down the field, the Tigers drew up the perfect play from the one-yard line. Lawrence faked the handoff to Travis Etienne, fooling LSU’s entire defense, then rolled out to his right and strolled in for the touchdown.
After giving the Tigers the first lead of the game, Lawrence greeted the LSU fans showering him with boos by blowing kisses towards them.
Lawrence is quickly proving why he’s one of the best quarterbacks in the country. He has thrived in the championship moment before and is quickly finding his rhythm on Monday with a chance to win his second title.
