When an NHL team wins the Stanley Cup Finals, players use the Stanley Cup to chug a beer. After winning Super Bowl LIV, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce created a new tradition by chugging a beer off the Lombardi Trophy.
After growing up watching and playing hockey, Kelce took inspiration from the iconic NHL celebration and brought it to the NFL. Of course, he went all the way with it by chugging the entire beer off the Lombardi Trophy.
Kelce is one of the most entertaining players in the NFL, both for his talent on the field and his personality. Now, it looks like Kelce wants to start a new tradition by bringing a taste of hockey to the NFL with the “Lombardi Luge”.
Let’s hope this celebration catches on among his teammates and future players chug beers off the Lombardi Trophy. The celebration is awesome and the nickname for it might be even better.
