WATCH: Texas WR Brennan Eagles soars for 55-yard, go-ahead TD

In a first half where the Texas Longhorns could never get the big play for a touchdown, Longhorns sophomore wide receiver Brennan Eagles flew in and delivered with a stunning catch-and-run for a 55-yard score.

Quarterback Sam Ehlinger lofted the ball right over star safety Grant Delpit and Eagles soared into the air for a leaping catch, then came down and kept his balance as he ran it into the end zone.

While the Longhorns have been able to move the ball against LSU’s defense, a major blunder and a second turnover on downs resulted in zero points from inside the five-yard line. It turns out, Texas just needed its touchdowns to come from outside LSU’s territory.

Texas will now hope this is the spark that gets the scoring going. If LSU continues to focus its attention on wide receiver Collin Johnson, Eagles will be in position to keep making plays.
