It’s almost like two-time MVP Stephen Curry came back rested after a three-plus week layoff due to a sprained ankle.
Curry put up 38 points on just 17 shots in his return to action last week against the Memphis Grizzlies. Now, after a few days off to celebrate the New Year, Curry was up to his old tricks.
With his Warriors in the midst of potentially blowing a double-digit lead against a lesser Mavericks team on the road Wednesday night, Curry nailed the dagger three-pointer to put the game away.
It came after Curry’s former teammate, Harrison Barnes, tied the game up with less than nine seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. And it was a thing of beauty.
The game-winner!
Steph Curry called game as the @warriors beat the @dallasmavs 125-122 in the final seconds!

How the Mavericks let Curry walk it up and hit a nearly uncontested game-winning three is beyond comprehension. Sure Draymond Green set a nice screen, but the Mavs should have seen this coming all along.
Curry finished the night with 32 points on 11-of-19 shooting, including six threes in the Warriors’ 125-122 win. Now, in two games since returning from injury, Curry is averaging 35 points and is shooting 62 percent from distance.
