WATCH: Royals’ Alex Gordon nearly hits ball out of SunTrust Park

Royals Alex Gordon

Kansas City Royals outfielder Alex Gordon had gone 138 at-bats without a homer before he took to the plate against Atlanta Braves starter Dallas Keuchel in the sixth inning of Tuesday’s game.

He responded by almost hitting the ball completely out of SunTrust Park in Atlanta.

The numbers don’t really do this one justice. It traveled 417 feet with an exit velocity of 106 mph.

Even then, this might be the most-impressive homer we’ve seen at the Braves’ new home stadium since it opened up back in 2017.

Gordon, 35, entered Tuesday’s action hitting .278 with 10 homers and 58 RBI.

One has to wonder if the long-time Royals veteran and three-time All-Star might be on the radar of contending teams heading into next week’s trade deadline.
