The Wisconsin Badgers and Ohio State Buckeyes brought their efforts to the Big 10 Championship Game on Saturday. Unfortunately, the referees did not and a missed false start could cost Wisconsin the upset.
The Badgers led 21-17 late in the third quarter when Buckeyes receiver Garrett Wilson made an obvious false start before the snap. The Badgers noticed it immediately and pointed it out, but the referees were oblivious to it and let Ohio State run its play.
The play ended up being a go-ahead touchdown with K.J. Hill hauling in a 16-yard touchdown from Justin Fields. Suddenly, Ohio State grabbed its first lead of the game and seized all the momentum – on a play that never should have happened.
