The Kansas City Chiefs picked off Philip Rivers in the first possession of Thursday night’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers. It didn’t take long for Patrick Mahomes to take advantage.
Mahomes appeared to have nothing. But he kept scrambling to his right, eventually finding Demarcus Robinson in the end zone.
Throw it away?
That's not the way @patrickmahomes5 rolls. Touchdown, @Chiefs!#LACvsKC

Amazingly, it wasn’t even Mahomes’ most impressive scramble of the possession.
He had previously extended the drive on a key third down. He scrambled more than 20 yards behind the line of scrimmage before getting free and finding Damien Williams for the key conversion.
Good luck trying to contain @PatrickMahomes5 😱#ChiefsKingdom #LACvsKC

Mahomes is certainly making a strong late push to be the NFL’s MVP. With plays like this, it’s hard to argue against him.
