WATCH: Pat McAfee surprises walk-on Indiana punter with scholarship announcement

When you’re a punter in Indiana, there is no player who you look up to more than former Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee. Just being able to punt in the same stadium where McAfee shined had to be an honor for Indiana Hoosiers walk-on Nate Snyder, but there was an even bigger surprise coming his way.

As Snyder started working out on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium, McAfee appeared on the video screen with a special message for Snyder. After delivering a hilarious and inspiring speech, then hears the special words that he is on a full-ride scholarship with the Hoosiers.

Snyder joined Indiana and restarted in 2016 before being part of the team’s roster the past two seasons. Now after working hard on his degree and punting the past three seasons, the senior punter will have a little extra weight taken off his shoulders this season.

Hopefully, Snyder will get some more opportunities to show off the powerful kicking leg that McAfee talked about. Perhaps he can even provide some of the theatrics that fans loved from McAfee during his time in Indianapolis.
