Gleyber Torres hit a two-run double in the fourth inning and drove in four runs while Gerrit Cole pitched seven effective innings as the surging New York Yankees extended their winning streak to five games with a 7-0 victory over the Chicago White Sox Saturday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.

The Yankees matched their longest winning streak of the season and also moved to 11-3 in their past 14 games.

Torres accounted for New York’s runs in Friday’s 2-1 win by homering and hitting the walk-off single and delivered again against White Sox starter Dylan Cease.

After Cease allowed a one-out single to Aaron Judge and walked Gio Urshela, Torres made it 2-0 by lifting a 2-1 curveball from Cease (2-1) that rolled to the warning track in left-center field.

Rougned Odor added an RBI double one batter later and those runs were plenty for Cole (6-2), who rebounded from allowing season highs of five runs and seven hits in a loss Monday at Texas.

Cole allowed four hits and did not allow a run for the fourth time this season. He struck out seven and survived issuing three walks for the second time as a Yankee by getting four double plays behind him.

Two of the double plays were started by Urshela at third after he started a triple play in the ninth on Friday.

Cole got double plays on rookie Yermin Mercedes in the second and fourth. He also got double plays on Leury Garcia in the third and Adam Eaton in the sixth

Cole’s outing marked the fourth straight scoreless outing by a New York starter.

After giving the Yankees the lead, Torres came up with the bases loaded an inning later against Matt Foster and hit a two-run single to make it 5-0.

Mike Ford added a solo homer in the sixth when he hit a 1-1 changeup into the right field bleachers. Miguel Andujar contributed a run-scoring double in the seventh.

Cease allowed a season-high five runs on five hits in 4 1/3 innings. He struck out six and walked four in a 91-pitch outing.

Jose Abreu had two hits for the White Sox, who lost consecutive games for the first time since April 15-17.
