After a disappointing offensive performance in Week 1, the Nebraska Cornhuskers dedicated this week’s practice to turn things around. The hard work paid off immediately with a monster touchdown.
Cornhuskers quarterback Adrian Martinez had all day in the pocket to look through his reads. When he saw wide receiver JD Spielman break free from coverage, he launched a bomb right to the young receiver and Spielman took it to the house.
These are exactly the plays everyone hoped they would see from Nebraska’s offense. Martinez has flashed the potential to be a great quarterback and Spielman is capable of monster games.
Now Scott Frost will hope this is the spark his offense needed and it will give Martinez the early confidence he needs to make the big throws and carry this offense.
