Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford and Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw were high school teammates in both football and baseball. During Monday night’s game against the New York Giants, Stafford named checked his buddy in an audible.

We have to be honest, that play was kind of disappointing. We were hoping that Stafford might show off and throw a breaking ball or even better, throw left-handed. That would be a really nice tribute to his buddy. As it stands, it’s a nice shout out.
