Maryland needs Josh Jackson to have a stellar game Friday night to beat Penn State. Based on his first possession, that may be a tough ask.
Jackson dropped back to pass and never saw Jan Johnson lurking underneath. He misread the defense and threw an awful interception.
Then, making it even worse, Jackson hit Johnson late out of bounds — the second Terps penalty on the return — setting up Penn State in the red zone.
The Nittany Lions responded on the next play with a touchdown run by Sean Clifford to take an early 7-0 lead.
