For those of us who haven’t had the pleasure of seeing Josh Allen play, Saturday provided a perfect opportunity to see what the fuss is all about.
The Wyoming quarterback is attempting to lead an upset on the road against Iowa Saturday and showed off his athleticism, grit and competitive fire.
Facing third-and-10 in Iowa territory in the second quarter, Allen was immediately under assault by the Hawkeyes defense. It looked like he’d be taken down for a big loss on a sack, but somehow he escaped the initial pressure, fought off multiple defenders and kept his team in field-goal range.

Allen’s magical play here allowed the Cowboys to go ahead by three points, 3-0, in the early goings of this slugfest. Iowa came into the game favored to win by double digits, but Allen clearly isn’t having any of that.
To this point in the game, Allen has completed 10-of-13 passes for 62 yards against the tough Iowa defense.
