Chicago Cubs All-Star shortstop Javier Baez showed off the leather in a big way Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates, robbing Colin Moran of a hit with a web gem we won’t soon forget.
Moran hit a ball that nearly skirted past Baez into left-center field. However, not only did Baez get his glove on the ball, he utilized some incredible acrobatics and arm strength to get an accurate throw to first.
It’s worth pointing out that first baseman Anthony Rizzo had something to do with this remarkable out, too. What a stretch by the big man, who deserves plenty of credit as well.
