The New Orleans Saints signed Jared Cook this offseason hoping he could deliver big plays in the red zone. He’s proven to be one of the best free-agent signings this year, stepping up once again with a ridiculous one-handed touchdown catch.
New Orleans’ offense is rolling in Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers. Already leading 28-0 in the first half, Drew Brees tossed up a back-shoulder throw to Cook’s shoulder and the 6-foot-5 tight end turned his body around to make the absurd one-handed catch.
The Saints are getting hot at the perfect time. After using each of the past two games to help Alvin Kamara rediscover his momentum, Brees is now getting Cook involved even more in the passing game. Given all of the big-play threats in this offense, it’s difficult to see any defense being able to slow the Saints down in the playoffs.
