Japanese pole vaulter Hiroki Ogita appeared to be over the bar. His shin had grazed it, but that created nothing more than a wobble. Unfortunately, the bar would not be spared from Ogita’s next body part, which knocked him out of the competition.

The bad news for Ogita is that his Olympics are over, and that is unfortunate. The good news is that he’s got a great icebreaker to tell for the rest of his life. Plenty of men have won Olympic medals. Far fewer have been eliminated from the Olympics because their “manhood” simply could not be contained.
Ogita may have lost the battle, but he’s won the war — especially if he’s single.
