Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Jalen Hurts must be having some flashbacks after losing a fumble against Baylor in the second quarter of the Big 12 Championship Game.
Like he did the first time these rivals met last month, Hurts lost the ball on a fumble due to a big hit from behind.
James Lynch definitely hit Hurts before he started his throwing motion. Then, due to the big hit the football careened forward, bounced off a Baylor helmet backward and ultimately was recovered by the Bears.
This was a humongous momentum shift in the game. Baylor hadn’t been able to do much of anything offensively in the first quarter. But this turnover set up the Bears to score their first points of the game and move to within a touchdown, down 10-3.
