The Cleveland Indians will be holding their breath on Friday night after an incredible play by outfielder Tyler Naquin turned into immediate concern following an ugly collision with the wall.
Naquin sprinted into the corner and leaped towards the wall to rob Joey Wendle of a double for a fantastic defensive play. Unfortunately, he immediately fell to the dirt and started grabbing at his leg
He remained down on the warning track for several minutes before trying to put weight on his right leg. He then went back down and was carted off the field to a warm reception by everyone in the stadium.
In the midst of a playoff hunt and already without third baseman Jose Ramirez, Cleveland can’t afford to lose Naquin. The 28-year-old entered Friday with a .287/.324/.463 slash line and provided outstanding defense in the corner outfield.
