WATCH: Dustin Johnson jumps back into first with hole-out from bunker

The conditions at Shinnecock Hills Thursday have led to some catastrophic starts for some of the world’s best golfers at the 2018 U.S. Open. However, the No. 1 golfer in the world, Dustin Johnson, is finding ways to keep his mojo going strong.

After hitting his second shot into the greenside bunker on No. 8, Johnson holed out his third shot to claim birdie and a share of the lead.

That ball literally jumped into the hole. And what’s so remarkable is that Johnson actually had to play the wind a bit here — it’s been fierce all day — and pulled off the shot beautifully.

At one point, Johnson had the outright lead at 3-under par. Like every other golfer out there, however, he took his lumps and dropped some strokes before getting back into the lead with that remarkable shot.
