It’s better to be lucky than good sometimes, but Carolina Panthers Cam Newton quarterback was both on Sunday.
Newton’s pass was deflected in the end zone, but running back Christian McCaffrey saved the day by catching it for the touchdown.
Newton went to Devin Funchess in the end zone with Carolina leading 14-0. The pass bounced off a player and hung in the air until McCaffrey ran in and caught it for the touchdown.

Newton has been sharp in this game and the Panthers are cruising with a big lead against the Baltimore Ravens. Now he had his “lucky” moment thanks to the help of his teammate.
The play also perfectly captures Baltimore’s poor luck as of late, including losing on Justin Tucker’s first missed extra point in Week 7.
