We’re used to seeing Christian McCaffrey run and receive. But on Monday, he went into more of an unusual role. It worked well for the Carolina Panthers.
Facing a fourth-and-two from midfield, Cam Newton handed the ball to McCaffrey, who appeared stuffed. But McCaffrey pulled up and tossed it to Chris Manhertz, who cruised in for a 50-yard touchdown.

We’d say that this one went pretty well for the Panthers and Ron Rivera, who gamely lived up to his Riverboat Ron moniker.
