The end of the Washington Wizards’ season opener against the Dallas Mavericks brought us an entirely new level of petty.
It started with Mavs star Luka Doncic thinking that that he had broken Bradley Beal’s ankles with a crossover.
As you can tell, an offensive foul was called on Mavericks guard Jalen Brunson. It’s also rather apparent that Wizards players took an exception to Doncic’s celebration.
This led to yet another incident later in the fourth quarter that saw Beal ejected for waiving. No really, that happened.
With the game pretty much out of hand and Dallas heading for a season-opening win, Kristaps Porzingis put an exclamation mark on it with an emphatic dunk.
Dallas ended up coming out on top by the score of 108-100. Doncic dropped 34 points while Porzingis went for 23 in his Mavs regular-season debut.
However, that’s not the story here. Rather, it’s about the insane ending to this game.
Mark February 7th on your calendar. That’s when Dallas will head to D.C. to take on the Wizards. It promises to get interesting.
