Philadelphia 76ers guard Ben Simmons receives plenty of criticism for his lack of shooting. He provided a basketball gift, though, on Christmas with a gorgeous Euro-step to blow past a defender and slip in an incredible right-handed shot.
It came in the third quarter with the 76ers rolling over the Milwaukee Bucks. Simmons showed no fear of Milwaukee’s vaunted defense, driving right at Ersan Ilyasova and crossing by him with the Euro-step. Once he cleared past Ilyasova, Simmons finished at the hoop with the right-handed bucket.
Simmons has shown some willingness to take shots from deep this year, even hitting a pair this season. Ultimately, these are some of the things people want to see more of if he’s going to keep his game inside.
A willingness to drive to the hoop, beat defenders with these moves and use either hand to finish at the rim. If he does that, the 76ers can dominate opponents like they are doing against the Bucks.
