Young shortstop Adalberto Mondesi and the Kansas City Royals didn’t do a whole bunch at the plate against the Tampa Bay Rays’ pitching staff in a 5-2 loss on Monday.
However, Mondesi showed us just how fast he is on the bases. The dude scored from second base on a wild pitch from Rays reliever Austin Pruitt. It has to be seen to be believed.
Scoring from second on a wild pitch is one of the rarest things we’ve seen during what has already been a strange 2019 MLB season.
Pretty much a full-time starter for the first time in his career, Mondesi entered Tuesday’s action leading MLB with four triples. We can see why.
