The Golden State Warriors and general manager Bob Myers just broke some relatively big news ahead of Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
Myers noted to the media that injured star Kevin Durant will not make the trip to Portland for Game 3 and Game 4 of the series against the Blazers.
Durant suffered a strained calf in Game 5 of the conference semifinals against the Houston Rockets. With him sidelined, Golden State has won three consecutive games.
Even then, missing Durant for at least the first four games of this series is going to be huge. The two-time reigning NBA Finals MVP was averaging nearly 35 points per game in the playoffs prior to going down to injury.
