In a move that has been in the works for some time now, the Golden State Warriors have officially signed three-time NBA championship head coach Steve Kerr to a contract extension.

It was reported late last month that Kerr was finalizing an extension that would make him among the highest-paid head coaches in the Association, a total annual value of $10-plus million. While Golden State did not release the terms of the extension, that’s likely the case.
In his four seasons as the Warriors head coach, Kerr has led the team to three NBA titles and four Finals appearances while posting a 265-63 regular season record. In the Warriors’ seven previous seasons prior to Kerr’s arrival, the team won a grand total of 270 games.
His 63 playoffs wins represent as many playoffs wins as the Warriors’ organization had posted since 1967-68. Needless to say, it’s a richly deserved extension.
