Klay Thompson is set to rejoin the Golden State Warriors, reconnecting the Splash Brothers for the holidays.

The team announced that Thompson and Warriors’ 2020 top draft pick James Wiseman have been recalled to the active roster, joining a Golden State team with already the best record in the NBA (23-5). The two players had been with the team’s G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, and practiced with that club for the past week.

The 31-year-old Thompson last played in a game for the Warriors during Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals when he suffered a torn ACL … and then sustained a torn Achilles last November before the season began.

Thompson could be back in the lineup alongside Steph Curry ahead of his previous estimate of January.

Wiseman was a rookie last season who averaged 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds in 39 games before sustaining a torn meniscus in April.

One of the premier shooters of his generation, Thompson helped the Warriors to five consecutive NBA Finals, winning three championships.

In the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors, the Warriors’ Kevin Durant ruptured a right Achilles tendon in Game 5, and Thompson suffered his knee injury in Game 6, and the Raptors went on to win the championship. With Durant leaving in free agency and Thompson missing a second consecutive season, the Warriors slumped to a 15-50 record in 2019-20 and 39-33 last season.

The Warriors selected Thompson with the No. 11 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. In 615 games (578 starts) with Golden State, Thompson has averaged 19.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
