Vlade Divac: DeMarcus Cousins won’t be traded this year ‘for sure’

All the chatter about DeMarcus Cousins potentially being on the trade block can stop, at least for a minute. Sacramento Kings general manager Vlade Divac definitively put it all to rest on Tuesday, via Sean Cunningham of ABC 10 in Sacramento.

This means new head coach Dave Joerger has his hands full and must have a plan in place to deal with the enigmatic Cousins.

The center has clashed with coaches in the past, most notably George Karl, with whom he did not see eye to eye in any way, shape or fashion.

Cousins is currently undergoing treatments on his feet, which he says have been hurting him more and more each year. He hopes to be healthy enough to represent Team USA in the Rio 2016 Olympics.

When healthy, there aren’t many centers in the NBA who can handle Cousins, who had an impressive 2015-16 campaign, despite dealing with his sore feet. He averaged 26.9 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.4 blocks this past year.
